This week we did the Duck Stamp project with both classes. The older class really enjoyed this because they knew it was a competition between themselves, their friends, and tons of students from all over. The younger class was also more excited about drawing ducks this week than last week; they remembered many of the facts we had taught them the week before, and they became even more creative in drawing their habitats and decorating their ducks. All of the students were able to display their awesome artistic talents on large stamp cutouts that will be sent to the US Wildlife Service to be judged. Not only were they able to enter into a competition, but they also learned a little about the conservation of the wildlife around us, which is always very important. They all received a certificate of completion for competing in this event.
