With February 2020 being leap year, we thought it would be fun for the students at Towey to design their own ponds with frogs, fishes, water lilies, bubbles, etc. It was very nice to see the students working quietly and sharing crayons & glue with one another. I was very impressed with how well they all followed directions during the demonstration.
Once the demo was finished, we gave them creative freedom to make their ponds however they liked with no limitations. I am glad we went this direction because my personal goal is for each student to feel independent when they are making art because it was a created from their own subconscious mind to share with everyone. I’m glad to see that these student really like art because of their excitement whenever Ms. Kristen & I show up to teach. I also like how everyone helped clean off the table at the end for their next activity.
