For our first art class at Cione Recreation we got to know our students through their architectural and interior designs. Students were given a manila folder that had been cut in the basic shape of a house. They were instructed that they could draw whatever they wanted to on the outside and inside of their home. Some students decorated their house similar to the on they live in. One student even cut their house into a square to create a stronger likeness to their home. Another carefully drew a brick pattern on the front of their house.
Students enjoyed the freedom to do whatever they wanted to their own houses. We enjoyed students incorporating things from their own life. As well as embellishing and inventing new features for their homes. These folder houses will also serve as portfolios to hold their artwork for the next 9 weeks.
