Last week at both Fishtown and Cieon, we used shapes and instruments to make our own music and perform in various dynamics : forte, mezzo, and piano. Each dynamic corresponds to loud, medium and low volume. First, we all got a set of different shapes: triangles, squares and rectangles. Each shape represents a specific movement. Then we put the shapes on the board in whatever order we wanted.
After “writing” our new song, we performed the corresponding actions with the song in rhythm. Our goal was to stay engaged while performing together as a group. It took practice, but we had a lot of fun!
Next week, we will try more variation with the music and actions.
