This past week I helped the kids at Cione and Fishtown create a song based around shapes and actions. I cut out four different shapes and linked them with specific actions such as clapping hands or shouting hooray.
We glued the shapes onto sheet music and they chose where to put each shape. This allowed them to create their own song. Afterwards, I performed the new song the students composed on the guitar while they acted out each shape, so it associated music with actions while they did their own version of singing.
