This past week I worked with the kids at Cione and Fishtown creating a song based around shapes and actions. I cut out four different shapes and associate them with particular actions, like clapping hands or shouting hooray. We would glue the cut shapes onto sheet music, and allow hem to choose where to put it. This allowed them to create their own song. Afterwards I performed the guitar while they acted out each shape, so it associated music with actions while they did their own version of singing.
