Project 4: April 2—Origami butterflies

Project 7: April 23rd—We will design a poster to commemorate the space and have an art unveiling for parents. ASI Teacher Volunteers will help with the Potluck /Art Opening and explain the significance of projects to parents at mini art unveiling. Students might be able to do some small skit about the animal they made or simply explain why they chose that animal. Artist statements could be in the form of a bubble message coming out of the mouth of their creature. For example: Karen says, “my favorite animal is the owl because I like to watch TV late at night.”
Project 8: April 30—Begin dismantling specific components of installation and have students use components to make into collages that students will bring home. Experiment with mixed media. ASI Volunteer teachers will document. This procedure also addresses storage concerns.
Project 9: May 7—Continue dismantling specific components of installation and have students use components to make into collages that students will bring home. Experiment with mixed media. ASI Volunteer teachers will document.
Project 10: May 14—Complete dismantling of installation. Have students use components to make into collages that they will bring home. ASI Volunteer teachers will document. Installation completely dismantled and all artwork will be returned to students by last class on May 14th.
