Create a 3-dimensional sun with handprint cutouts to represent solar flares.

Materials: 2 paper plates, construction paper, tempera paint, pencil, glue, hole puncher, yarn, scissors
Step 1: Trace and cut out hands on yellow and orange paper.
Step 2: Make handprints using yellow, orange and white tempera paint on paper plates. Let dry and cut out.
Step 3: Glue the hands around the front edge of one paper plate.
Step 4: While waiting for glue to dry, decorate the back of the second paper plate.
Step 5: Decorate the back of the first paper plate. Glue the undecorated front sides of the two paper plates together.
Step 6: Punch a hole on outer edge of plate and tie yarn through the hole to hang their suns.
