For the last day of classes at Glavin Rec Center I had the preschoolers make paper bag puppets. We talked about what our puppets could look like. A clown puppet? An alien puppet? A monster? Or is the puppet a version of yourself? The kids enjoy blending colored pencils and making designs. I guided them to make a person from the puppet, however after they drew eyes and a mouth the puppets took their own path. They drew different outfits and expressions on the puppets faces. Some puppets were angry monsters, others were sad, and some were versions of themselves. After they were done making their puppets they had fun playing pretend with each other. Its really sweet seeing the kids ask each other how their projects turned out or ask to see it.
