The middle and high school students at Penn Treaty had a fun filled painting class this past week. We had wooden frames that we were able to bring over for them to decorate. They sketched on their designs and then used Acrylic paint to make the frames colorful and bright. In the middle of each frame was a mirror. This way, every time they looked at their project, they also saw themselves. Each frame “mirrored” the student’s passions, art style, and creativity.
We also had Styrofoam balls that had cork attached all around it. This activity had them paint the cork pieces and create a really fun decorative piece. These are so unique and displays how art and art projects can be incredibly diverse and varied. Also the interesting shape made them even more fun to paint and gave the students more experience with different techniques.
