Today at Southwark, we only had the older class. We decided to challenge them a little bit with folding origami frogs. So far, this is the most excited they’ve been about our projects. We handed out pre-cut squares and went around to each table to demonstrate the folds. They caught on pretty quickly, and soon they all had paper frogs that could hop when you pushed down on the back. We then handed out red strips of paper for tongues, eyes, and a lily pad. They spent the rest of the class gluing these together, and by the end they had fully completed origami frogs sitting on lily pads. This was a really fun project to do with this group. It wasn’t too difficult, but it challenged them enough to make it interesting.
