Shrimp are crustaceans that can be found by the seafloor or in rivers and lakes. There are over 2,000 species of shrimps that usually live between 1 to 7 years. Shrimp are very nutritious and can range in size from a few millimeters to more than 20 centimeters (or about 8 inches). They are also a beneficial part of an aquarium ecosystem by cleaning up excess bits of food and waste left behind by fish or other aquarium animals.
