This week was our last day at Shissler Rec! Today we organized the students’ artwork portfolios and got them ready to be sent home! The students were very excited to finally bring their crafts home and be able to show their families all the hard work they’ve been doing in art class! I had such a great time teaching at Shissler and I will miss them!
Why are art portfolios for preschoolers important?
Organizing a preschooler’s artworks in a portfolio shows parents, teachers, and students a view of their personal growth. Students feel accomplished seeing all of the things they’ve created together in front of them. Instead of sending projects home individually, portfolios are a visual way for parents and teachers to see the progress students have made. Giving recognition to the the progress students make allows them to have pride in what they cam accomplish.
