This week’s lesson at Towey was quite interesting for me personally because it was mainly focused on fashion design and I was intrigued with how creative the students could really get. We started off by talking about how clothes are made with a variety of different types of fabric.
As everyone started designing their own clothes on a headless upper torso manikin, I noticed that some students made Lakers basketball jerseys in honor of Kobe Bryant, while others drew superhero costumes. I was touched with the way they used art to show their respect to a basketball legend. I also really liked how creative their superhero costumes were as well.
I have to mention that they colored a bubble design of their names alongside the clothes. Overall, I thought that it was really cool that the students were able to turn their designs into something meaningful to them personally.
