Decorate Historical Monument of El Morro for A Walk Around Puerto Rico Series
Castillo San Felipe del Morro’s construction began in 1539 and finished in 1790. That is 250 years to build! It was the second fort built on the island, after realizing that the first was built too inland to protect the land. This fort has been used by the military installation a bunch of times! Nowadays, El Morro is a historical monument you can visit and where locals go flying kites on its big front lawn.
Add the “chiringas” or kites to decorate El Morro.
