What a messy day we had! I mixed dish soap, water, and paint to create a colorful, soapy liquid. The liquid mixture was dispersed into shallow dishes at tables. Each child had their own straw and several pieces of paper. They were asked to write their names on all pieces of paper since everyone’s art may look similar. They took turns blowing into the soapy mixture to create bubbles, then place their paper onto the bubbles without letting it dip down too low (then it just gets a chunk of paint on it with no design). When it worked correctly, they had an abstract bubble print! We rotated the colors and got more paper as needed. Quite the messy day, but we learned a new vocabulary word, “abstract”!
