The students at Towey were very excited today due to the nice weather outside, so we had them design their own grand hog puppet, 3D hedgehog, and a 3D turtle. This project was fun subtle way to transition them to drawing in a three dimensional space while building a sculpture simultaneously. I really like how unique everyone’s turtle shell was because it shows their imagination and creativity. One thing I have noticed is that the students were in a relaxed mellow state while drawing which kept them calm for majority of the lesson. I was happy to see that they enjoyed making the grand hog puppet just as much as they did making their Halloween puppets last semester. I also noticed that the students aren’t afraid to artistically express themselves because they’re in a safe environment to do so. Overall, I was impressed with how they were able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
