Jerry Pinkney is an American illustrator from Philadelphia, PA. He is best known for his children’s book illustrations on diverse topics such as African American history. From a young age, Pinkney struggled in school due to dyslexia, but excelled in the arts. Pinkney has won numerous awards for his children’s book illustrations.
