Cambodian Classical Dance is a very ancient artform. It is one that requires a lot of discipline and rigorous training. The goal of this course is to allow students to explore various facets of Cambodian Classical Dance, from the 4 main roles in dance to one of the stretching routines. By practicing some of the gestures in dance, observing some clips of performances, and listening to the story of a dancer from the Khmer Rouge period, students will find out for themselves what it means to be a dancer. With Sopheap as the instructor and Nicole as the editor, take time with this series to explore and reflect!
Ages: 6 – 11 (with parental guidance) 12 – 18 (independently)
