Inspired by the Aztec’s artistic representations of their sun gods students made their own depictions in the form of looms. The sun is a common theme in many culture’s art because of the importance of it for human survival. The class discussed the many things that the sun provides and why we see it in art so often.
In addition to designing their own sun portraits students made a weaving around their design. Just using construction paper as a loom students could add another interesting feature to their artwork.
