This is a list of Vocabulary words the Pre-School students have learned over the course of the Fall semester at Fishtown Recreation Center:
Rhythm – patterns found in the duration, length and/or accents of musical sounds.
Percussion – instruments that make a sound when they are struck, shaken, scraped, plucked, or rubbed.
Shaker – percussion instrument that creates a sound by moving or “shaking” back and forth in the air rather than being struck.
Hand Drum – percussion instrument played by being struck with hands.
Bell – percussion instrument that creates a sound by vibrating when being struck by a stick.
Solo – a piece or a section of a piece played or sung featuring a single performer.
A capella – sung without instrumental accompaniment.
