National Sunscreen Day

National Sunscreen Day is on May 27th.

Some Common Myths:

  • “I don’t need to wear sunscreen if it’s cold or cloudy”
    • The sun is always radiating UV rays. Therefore, sunscreen should be worn year round.
  • “My sunscreen in SPF 50 so I don’t need to reapply often”
    • Sunscreen should be reapplied every 2 hours regardless of SPF.
  • “I don’t need sunscreen because I have dark skin”
    • People with dark skin are just as susceptible to burn, so sunscreen should be worn.

Celebrate this day by telling your friends and family about how to protect yourself from the sun!
