The John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge is a 1000-acre National Wildlife Refuge covering both Philadelphia and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania. It offers a fun outdoor experience with hiking trails, wild life, and environmental education. Art sphere recently hosted an event to create a fun learning experience that combined the outdoors, art, and the awareness of the endangered species housed there. We provided tables full of cutouts, coloring pages, and handouts that the kids could work on and take home. There were activities from leaf imprints to paper bugs to paper plate foxes that they could all take part in. This was a really special event because it gave us the opportunity to have a whole of simply interacting with the community of Philadelphia, especially the families. It’s always exciting when we are able to to make a learning environment fun for children and students engage with the whole family.
