At Glavin Recreation Center on Wednesday we made hot air balloons. The kids decorated coffee filters with markers and then scrunched it up and dipped it in water to create a tie-dye effect for the balloon part. After the coffee filter dried they glued it to their page and made a box for the bottom of the hot air balloon. We talked about how the bottom part is where people sit, and hot air is pumped into the balloon part to make it float. Then they drew lines to connect the balloon to the box. Then they decorated the background.
