Samuels Rec Center used recycled bubble wrap and tissue paper to create a fish bowl collage. They first painted bubble wrap with blue, turquoise and purple tempera paint. Then they flipped the bubble wrap over onto a paper plate, which would act as their fish bowl. They continued this until they were satisfied with the amount of bubbles.
Then they went to another table and used tissue paper to create sand/gravel and seaweed. They could use construction paper for fish or other details.
Several techniques were learned in this lesson – painting, printmaking, drawing, and mixed media collage.
