  • Awards: She had her first exhibition in 2018 in Robichaux, New York. Her work was recently featured in Flight: A Collective History at the Hessel Museum of Art in New York. She has had her work featured in Cultured Magazine, New York Magazine, and more.

Leliah by Elora Brown - ASI Inc

Leilah Babiyre is an abstract sculpture artist born in Uganda that works with debris collected from New York, mostly metal, plastic, rubber, and wood. Her work speaks to the subjugation of LGBTQ people in Uganda, and the pain she and the community endure. Beyond that, her work also speaks to anti-violence, human rights, and gender fluidity.
