Electrifying Static and Fall transformation

There’s a lot happening at Penn Treaty these next couple weeks. Our students have just moved classrooms and the goal is to redecorate and design. Following the theme of transformation, the students made butterflies as the 1st wall art. Butterflies have huge transformations that happen throughout their lives, and we love incorporating science lessons into our art projects. This way they can learn about metamorphism, life cycles, and beautiful changes.

After they finished their masterpieces, Penn Treaty had some fun with static. Kristin brought in plastic balls that change color around static electricity. This was a lot of fun because students could go around and look for ways to make the color brighter or dimmer. It allows them to seek out static electricity or even create their own. They are also able to teach themselves what causes it and what affects it more or less.
