At this event, projects included rubbings of texture plates and works of masters, African symbol stamps, Yoruban Folk lore, Egyptian Hieroglyphics and their translations, face painting, and hand painting. At other park events, projects to support local themes have included: healthy eating fruit stencils and vegetable still life paintings, clothes line art shows, spin art, shrinky dinks, jewelry making, magnet making, and much more. Another park in West Philadelphia where we have participated in wonderful Art Festivals is Clark Park.
Better than a magnet with the name of the event, arts and crafts tables give children and adults one on one attention and can share the messages from other tables’s resources. Walk up participants prefer opportunities to make events personally rewarding for themselves and therefore more memorable than gizmo giveaways.
