Terms

Adjoining (adjective) – (of a building, room, or piece of land) next to or joined with.

cartilage (noun) – firm, whitish, flexible connective tissue found in various forms in the larynx and respiratory tract, in structures such as the external ear, and in the articulating surfaces of joints. It is more widespread in the infant skeleton, being replaced by bone during growth.

Fibrous (adjective) – Consisting of or characterized by fibers; tough and threadlike, sinewy.
Joints (noun) – a structure in the human or animal body at which two parts of the skeleton are fitted together.

Skeleton (noun) – an internal or external framework of bone, cartilage, or other rigid material supporting or containing the body of an animal or plant.

Synovial (adjective) – relating to or denoting a type of joint which is surrounded by a thick flexible membrane forming a sac into which is secreted a viscous fluid that lubricates the joint.

Tissue (noun) – any of the distinct types of material of which animals or plants are made, consisting of specialized cells and their products.
