Fun facts about penguins:
- While most birds have hollow bones to help with flight, penguins have solid bones to reduce buoyancy (tendency to float) and make it easier to swim.
- Penguins don’t just live in Antarctica – there are penguins in the Galapagos Islands, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Peru, and Chile.
- In order to find a mate, male penguins give rocks as gifts to female penguins.
