Mindfulness and Movement

Olly took the lead with the second grade class this past Tuesday, and started with a group meditation. We brought some Buddhist prayer items that Kristin had bought over the weekend. Olly sat everyone down in front of him and showed them how to meditate. They were a little unfocused, but this was the first time a lot of them had meditated so they were probably just self conscious. I believe that moving forward they’ll feel more comfortable with meditating and will benefit from starting each class with a moment of mindfulness.

Once we completed the meditation, Olly got them up and energized with a few rounds of “Baby Shark”. The kids loved it! Most of them were familiar with it already, and were excited to help Olly teach the moves to the rest of the class.
