How To Draw The Human Brain

The Brain is a three pound complex organ responsible for emotions, sensory input, temperature regulation, memory, motor skills, breathing, blood circulation, speech, vision, sleep, hearing, reading and decision making.

* Cerebrum – Is the large tissue part of the brain that’s divided by two hemispheres. This part of the brain is responsible for vision, hearing, touch, speech, emotions, learning and reasoning skills. It contains four lobes, which are the Frontal Lobe, Temporal Lobe, Parietal Lobe and Occipital Lobe.

* Cerebellum – Is below the Occipital Lobe and Temporal Lobe on the bottom left of the Cerebrum. This part of the brain is responsible for posture, balance and temperature.

* Brain Stem – Is at the bottom of the brain, right of the Cerebellum and below the Temporal Lobe. This part of the brain is responsible for breathing, heart rate, sleeping and eating.

The best way to memorize an image is to break it down to its basic shape. Let’s go through the breakdown. Each part of the brain has a shape. The frontal lobe is shaped like a fruit slice candy, the parietal lobe is shaped like a horizontal jelly bean, the occipital lobe is shaped like a fruit slice candy or raindrop, the temporal is shaped like an oval, the cerebellum is shaped like a horizontal almond nut and the brainstem is shaped like a “P”. After drawing each shape, slowly add details. Each lobe should look somewhat like a cloud.
