Sri Lanka is nicknamed “The Teardrop of India” because of its teardrop shape. It is also nicknamed “Pearl of the Indian Ocean” based on its geography.

The Bodhi tree of Sri Lanka, also known as Sri Maha Bodhiya, is the oldest known human-planted tree. It is believed that the tree is 2,300 years old and was planted in 288 BC.

Sri Lank is in South Asia, with a population of 22 million people. Its capital is Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, and their currency is Sri Lankan Rupee. The official languages spoken in Sri Lanka is Sinhala and Tamil.
