Seminal Vesicles

Reproductive Helper

Function:

The seminal vesicles, located above the prostate, join with the vas deferens to form the ejaculatory ducts that reach the prostate. The prostate and the seminal vesicles produce fluid that nourishes the sperm. This fluid provides most of the volume of semen, the fluid in which the sperm is expelled during ejaculation.

Fun Fact:

Each seminal vesicle consists of a single, coiled, blind-ending tube giving off several irregular pouches. It is normally around 3 to 5 cm in length and 1 cm in diameter.
