Function:

Smooth muscles are located throughout your body. The primary function of smooth muscles are slow, involuntary contractions. For example, your stomach is made of smooth muscle so that it can digest what you eat and slowly push it through your digestive system– without you even thinking about it!  

Fun Fact:

Smooth muscles contract to move substances such as food through the organ.
