Function:

Bone marrow is a sponge-like tissue found inside the bones. There are two types of bone marrow: red and yellow. Redbone marrow contains stem cells, which are immature cells that can develop into the red blood cells that carry oxygen through your body, white blood cells that fight off infection for your body, or platelets that help your blood clot. Yellow bone marrow helps store fat as a source of energy.

There are two types of bone marrow, which are red bone marrow and yellow bone marrow.

Red bone marrow helps produce blood cells and yellow bone marrow helps store fat. 

Fun Fact:

Bone marrow produces 200 billion new red blood cells every day, along with white blood cells and platelets.
