Sweat Glands

Natural Cooling

Function:

You may notice that you get sweaty and sticky outside on a hot day. Where does the sweat come from? Sweat glands are actually all over our body. Your forehead, armpits, palms, and soles of your feet have the most sweat glands. The main function of the sweat gland is to regulate body temperature and remove waste by secreting water, salts, and nitrogenous waste onto the skin’s surface.

Fun Fact:

Women have more sweat glands than men, but men’s sweat glands actually produce more sweat than women.
