The Connector

Function:

The pharynx in your throat is a ring-like muscular tube that acts as the passageway for air, food, and liquid. It is located behind the nose and mouth and connects the mouth and nose to the breathing passages and the esophagus. The throat also helps in forming speech.

Fun Fact:

It is nearly 12.5 cm long or 5 inches long. It is a Musculo membranous tube which has its greatest breadth at the base of the skull from where it starts and is narrowed down at the Esophagus.
