Sierra Leone

The meaning of Sierra Leone is “Roaring Mountains”. It was named by a Portuguese explorer who encountered an intense thunderstorm while sailing in the mountainous area of modern-day Sierra Leone.

Rice can be seen everywhere in Sierra Leone foods. It is an important diet for people in the country.

Sierra Leone is in West African, with a population of 7.6 million people. Its capital is Freetown, and their currency is Sierra Leonean Leone. The languages spoken in Sierra Leone are Mende, Temne, Krio, Limba, and English.
