National Landmarks: The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is a research center and museum that focuses on the fight for racial justice and equality during the Civil Rights Movement. Although a lot of the movement occurred in Birmingham, the institute also educates visitors on the fight for equality around the US. It is a part of the Birmingham’s Civil Rights District, which covers about 6 blocks and is dedicated to the movement.
