Function:
A woman’s ovaries are located in the lower abdomen, on both sides of the uterus. In addition to containing the egg cells necessary for reproduction, the ovaries also produce the hormones estrogen and progesterone. these hormones are key for puberty and development.
Fun Fact:
The ovaries lie in a depression called the ovarian fossa.
