How diet relates to fitness

How diet relates to fitness:

The diet provides the micronutrients we need for fitness. They are protein, carbohydrates, and fats. It gives you energy throughout the exercises and assists you to build a stronger body.

Protein is very critical during fitness; it acts as the building block of your muscle. When you exercise, you are tearing the muscle fiber apart, which then requires the protein to repair the inside of your body. Also, it helps reduce muscle soreness and increase glycogen storage.

Carbohydrate is the main energy source during fitness. The carbohydrate will be stored inside the muscle and liver as glycogen, and the stores will later be used as fuel for exercise or other physical activities. It is important to have sufficient glycogen, else the body will feel tired and will not perform the best.

Fat is the primary resource for the generation of energy during fitness as the carbohydrate. During low-intensity physical activities, fat will be the dominant energy source for the body. Also, during moderate-intensity physical activity, the fat will provide a large amount of energy to support our body.
