Terms

Appearance (noun) – the way that someone or something looks.

Blood vessels (noun) – a tubular structure carrying blood through the tissues and organs; a vein, artery, or capillary.

Contour (verb) – mold into a specific shape, especially one designed to fit into something else.

Fascia (noun) – a thin sheath of fibrous tissue enclosing a muscle or other organ.

Hormone (noun) – a regulatory substance produced in an organism and transported in tissue fluids such as blood or sap to stimulate specific cells or tissues into action.

Layer (noun) – a sheet, quantity, or thickness of the material, typically one of several, covering a surface or body.

Leptin (noun) – a protein produced by fat cells that is a hormone acting mainly in the regulation of appetite and fat storage.

Organ (noun) – a part of an organism that is typically self-contained and has a specific vital function, such as the heart or liver in humans. Made up of tissue.

Protect (verb) – keep safe from harm or injury.

Regulate (verb) – control or maintain the rate or speed of (a machine or process) so that it operates properly.

Sensors (noun) – a device that detects or measures a physical property and records, indicates, or otherwise responds to it.

Thermoregulation (noun) – a process that allows your body to maintain its core internal temperature.
