What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?
Autism Spectrum Disorder is a complex developmental condition that creates challenges for that person to have social interactions, produce speech and understand nonverbal communication. As the second word suggests, Autism is a spectrum meaning that there are many different ways it can present in a person, so no two people with autism are affected the same. As many of you may know this month is Autism Awareness Month. But more specifically April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day. ASI has been launching a series of sensory learning projects that are not only great for engaging different senses, but are also autism friendly.
