*October 19 – Wearable Wings : Focal – responsibility and dependability to complete a big task. Example, Geese flying south for the winter depend on each other.

*October 26 (Midterms/ Halloween Parade)- Collage Art For Conversations Around Food, Pizza Project : Focal – Responsible eating. Example, what can we put on a pizza that makes it healthier? (possible project change due to midterms)
Be prepared with halloween masks lesson just incase.

Theme Compassion
(synonyms fellow feeling, concern, sensitivity)

November 2 – Flower Arrangement : Focal – connecting to other peoples feelings, expressing concern. Example, What a bouquet of flowers expresses to someone, and the act of sharing a symbol.

November 16 –Chinese Lanterns : Focal – Lantern festivals around the world, like valentines day/ people showing that they care, a symbol of hope and light.

November 23 – Storyteller: The Lion and The Mouse : Focal – Making meaningful messages for others. Example,The lion and the Mouse. Students reflect (creating a story) on a personal event of when someone shared their concern and compassion for you or someone you know.

December 7 –Handheld Play part I : Focal – Determination and commitment. Example, Creating a play about a character/s that succeeds with determination.

December 14 –Handheld Play part II : Focal – Determination and commitment. Example, Creating a play about a character/s that succeeds with determination.

Theme Trustworthiness
(synonyms accurate, honest, faithful)

January 4 – Maze project : Focal – Comparing life to a maze, it can be hard to navigate if you don’t have trustworthy people to navigate it with. Example animals that symbolize trust, the dog is loyal and trust worthy
* we decided to do Navigate Together Board Game *

January 11 – Space Ship : Focal – discussing all the themes through the past 10 weeks together. / Example, Astronauts have to trust their team in space. They are gone for months at a time. They have to trust each other to keep going and preserve together when they are thousands of miles from home.

January 25 (Students Fall Finals) – Snowflake Project : expressing each students uniqueness
