Art and Economics

Dear Concerned Philadelphians,

Philadelphia, birthplace of the Great American Experiment and home to so much that is beautiful, is in crisis.
This beacon of liberty and self-determination is literally killing itself, one gunshot at a time.
The City of Brotherly Love is home to a generation of young people who face a choice every day: follow a self-destructive path or build a positive future through purpose-driven activity.

As you can see below, Philadelphia is the 9th poorest city in the US with 25.1% of Philadelphians living below the poverty level.

Art Sphere Inc. strives to work with these impoverished neighborhoods, empowering individuals and communities to take pride in their neighborhoods and lives through ART!  ASI collaborates with volunteers to provide hope, educate youth, share dreams, organize park clean-ups, cover graffiti, and create beautiful neighborhoods that inspire.

Art Sphere, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting individual and civic empowerment through art education, offers an opportunity to our young people to choose the latter.
Since 1998, we have worked with local artists, schools, groups, and most importantly, kids, to improve this city through art, and improve young lives through:

• Collaborative Public Murals
• Conflict Resolution Workshops
• After-school and Adult Education Programs
• Cross-cultural Art Exchanges
• Themed Art Workshops

We help fill the void where government cutbacks have significantly diminished the arts in public schools, and we do so with no permanent office, no paid staff, and a shoe-string budget.
I ask that you or your company support Art Sphere either through an individual or corporate donation or through underwriting one of our upcoming projects. In addition, volunteer opportunities within Art Sphere abound! We strive to make all of our volunteer activities positive and personally rewarding.
Please contact us at info@artsphere.org to find out more.

We wish to strengthen our ties to both the local citizenry and the local corporate community.
Concerning corporate support, we envision prominently displaying corporate logos and slogans of our sponsors directly on our projects, many of which are outdoor murals throughout the city.
