Grade Level Rational: This project is suitable for preschoolers because they can learn how to concentrate and spatial perception as they orient their paper. They also have the skills to listen to instructions and create the proper folds.

Objectives:

-Students will be able to associate paper with a fun opportunity to create their own toys.

-Students will be able to design a paper butterfly.

Supply List:

-colored square paper

-markers

Activity: First I’ll talk to the students the life cycle of the butterfly. I will then hand out paper to the children and show them step by step how to fold an origami butterfly. Afterwards, they can decorate them.

Clean-up: Clean up is simple since there are only dry materials. Paper butterflies will be collected for an art show.
